It's been a while

Life's been a little busy not much crafting going on.  Sad because of it, but will hopefully be changing soon.  I miss scrap booking and have some unfinished projects to complete.Soon it will be time to think about the Holidays not sure I'm ready for that, but I love the
holidays. Lots of things to do, will need to start making lists so I can keep track of it all.  Hope everyone has a creative day.

Had a fun evening out with my sister in law to see American English. They are a great Beatles Tribute Band. If you ever have the opportunity check them out.

Made a card today using my Silhouette

I made a card today something I do not do to often as I like scrap booking mainly.  I thought I'll try a card and see what I come up with off the top of my head.  Well....that could be a good thing or bad. I had to think first before sharing this because after I got it together and added the diploma I seen that I should of chosen a different background.  I wanted something bright and not too busy.  I used my Texture Boutique and Tim Holtz embossing folder.  I chose the rays folder thinking it would give a feeling of success. I also used my Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter for all of the shapes on the card front including the text which I used my Silhouette Sketch pens.  Did I ever tell you I love that machine!  I have the older model but it's still plugging a long.
You may wonder why I said Graduates on this card.  I made it for my niece and her husband who graduated together getting their MBA. Now for the inside...........

Would you rather have this?

Today is a scorcher......started out with a thunderstorm. Thankfully we did not lose power but......did it make a difference? No...
because the central air died too. DH says I called a repair man to come look at it. I told him he should of done it years ago. It was not cooling the house down anyway, but being as stubborn as he is he said it was fine.

Fast forward, I call home to see what was found on the central air check up.....it's a goner. Sort of funny, instead of looking into a new central air unit he buys a window unit and decides to wait until fall to purchase another central air. Looks like it's going to be a long hot summer. No I don't want snow but I thought these would cool me off.

Of course it did not help.

Little Notebook

Had a little time today to play and I made a small notebook to keep thoughts, ideas etc. in.  I used two chipboard coasters and my Bind it All with some index cards.  I made it simple as I did not want something that would damage easily transporting in my purse. I also used my Silhouette to cut the scalloped squares and to print the words with the glitter pens.

Here it is opened.  Simple but fun!

The wedding shower

I had so much fun planning the wedding shower with my daughters bridesmaids. They had so many creative ideas to share and we even did scrapbook pages at the shower. We made a scrapbook cookbook. Everyone was told to bring a picture and a recipe.  I supplied everything else to make the pages embellishments etc. It was a success.
My daughter uses recipes from it all the time.

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone is enjoying this great holiday weekend celebrating the birth of our country. I'm taking this extra time at home to do some more organizing. Starting with photo's. I've had some of these photo storage's boxes but decided to purchase the larger case. I'm not done yet but it's a start. I'm thinking of making a folder for each of the kids on my laptop and then one family folder to pull all photos from and put them on disk. One fear hard drive crashing and not having backups. I started scanning some old family photo's from my childhood but I have also scraped some black and white originals for my black and white album I have been working on and off on. Did not scan first probably should have. Love checking all of the organizing blogs you never know what you might run across that will help you with your crafting organization.

A Years Time

I can't believe it's been a year since I was joining my daughter for her final wedding gown fittings.  We had so much fun during this time preparing, shopping for jewelry, mother of the bride dress and the special lunches we shared on those days. Soon my lovely daughter and son-in-law will be celebrating their one year wedding anniversary.  More photo's to come as their one year approaches.

A Stop at Joann's

Made a stop at Joann Fabrics today.  Have not been there in a long time. Husband wanted some patches so of course I had to take a look as the stamps and card stock.  I fell in love with The Rustic Stack from DCWV and I can't wait to use it.  Not sure yet what I'll scrap with it yet but it will be fun. Plus it was marked down 40%.

Early Scrapbooking Days

These are some pages from my first attempts of scrapbooking.  Took the lazy way out and left them in the albums to take the photographs.  I used stickers more in the beginning, not knowing what to do to embellish being new.  I still use stickers on occasion. I have a Silhouette that I love but don't have as much time as I would like to play with it.  I do try and use it for titles and some basic cut outs for now. I love using the pens have not used them in my scrapbooking yet.  This is my journey to find my style.
I like doing 2 page spreads.
Pictures are from when my kids were young. Hopefully I will not be working in the past too long!

I loved making Halloween costumes for my kids when they were young. As I learn to scrapbook I also need to gain more skill on photo taking too.
My hand at using my Silhouette with other die cuts.

Just the begining

My blog will be on some of my favorite things.......scrapbooking (newbie), family and fun times.
I will share some pictures soon. Starting with some older pages I have worked on working my way into to the new.
My dear neighbor got me into this wonderful world of scrapbooking. She started by getting me to take classes with her at Archiver's.  Since then I have been working on pages when I have some spare time.
